The Food Systems Transformation in Southern Africa for One Health project.
The Food Systems Transformation in Southern Africa for One Health (FoSTA Health) project
In a context of rapid and profound global and local changes, food systems need a collaborative, multisectoral and transdisciplinary One Health approach focused on achieving optimal health outcomes to help make Africa safer and healthier for humans, animals, plants, and their shared environment. In the context of this, the EU-funded FoSTA-Health project aims to develop inclusive visions of and action plans for food systems transformation for achieving positive One Health outcomes in southern Africa. Working with cross-system stakeholder groups and drawing on evidence from case study contexts in Malawi, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia, the project will shed light on the complex system dynamics that link food systems transformation to diverse animal, environmental and human health outcomes.
