The Launch of the NAIP 2014-2018 Review

The Launch of the NAIP 2014-2018 Review, Design of Second Generation NAIP and Biennial Review ReportThe Agricultural Consultative Forum (ACF) hosted a meeting where the ministers from the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock and the Ministry of Agriculture on Thursday, May 9, 2019 launched the review of the 2014-2018 National Agricultural Investment Plan (NAIP), the design of the Second Generation NAIP and the Biennial Review Report (BRR) under the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) Malabo Declaration. The launched review of the 2014-2018 NAIP is meant to draw lessons learnt from its implementation that will then feed into the design of the 2nd NAIP which will form the roadmap for all agricultural investment in the country. The launch of the Biennial Review report was meant to inform the nation on Zambia’s performance regarding the CAADP Malabo Declaration to which Zambia is a signatory. The meeting was informed that the 2017 Inaugural report of the BRR indicated that Zambia was not on track with implementing some of the declarations that it endorsed. The nation was however assured that the 2019 BRR report will make Zambia to be on track as a roadmap has been designed to ensure that the nation collects and reports on all the commitments agreed to under the Malabo Declaration Commitment.
